He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Mitan; his son Alexander J. Mitan Jr.; and his parents, Andrew Mitan and Rozalia Mitan. He is survived by: his children, Andrew Mitan (Carla), Anthony Mitan (Courtney), James Mitan, Marie Friedman (Marc) and Kathy Laidlaw (Chris); his grandchildren, Allie, Ben, Alec, Connor Mitan, Harvey, Fiona Laidlaw, Will and Emmaline Friedman; his siblings, Kasimier Mitan, Marion Mitan and Wanda Mitan; and his sisters-in-law, Candy Mitan and Pat Mitan. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; and cousins.
As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to: St. Mary Church - Masses for Alex and Mary Mitan or Alzheimer's Association.
