He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry E. Berns and Phyllis R. Berns (Berglin); his brother Glenn Berns; and his grandson Brogan Berns. He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Berns of Tampa and Michael Berns; his wife Kelly; his grandchildren, Brenna Berns of Rochelle, Braden Berns of Rochelle, Breccan Berns of Rochelle and Briley Berns of Rochelle; and his sister Mary Ellen Smith of Pleasant Garden.
