He is survived by: his son Alexander Roland Gillespie (Alec); his brothers, John Gillespie (Patti) of Champaign, IL and Bob Gillespie (Kenna) of Salem, OR; his nephews, Robert, Brian, Danny, Clayton and Nolan; his grandfather Vern Anton Roland; and his son Alec. He is also survived by friends and family to his beloved animals – if you ever came to his home, you were greeted by some of the largest dogs.
