He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, LaRue Bender and Helen Bender; his children, Robert Bender Jr. (Layna) of Granger, IN, Stephanie Bender-Kitz (Kevin) of Boise, ID and Karen Bender (Rob Hornbaker) of Champaign; and his grandchildren, Jack, Max, Lily (Bob), Kelsie, Colin (Stephanie), Weston, Randall and Jenna (Karen).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be considered to the Krannert Center for Performing Arts or United Way of Champaign County.
