James Bruckbauer Obituary
James Bruckbauer passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2023, at the age of 67. Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Wauwatosa on July 17th at 10am.
Jim was born October 10, 1955, in Urbana, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois with bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering. Later, he received a second master's from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
He worked as a mechanical engineer at Caterpillar Tractor in Peoria, Illinois, and spent more than a decade at Chrysler in Kenosha as a quality engineer. As an engineer, he was organized and thoughtful in all he did.
He married Helen Claire Bruckbauer in 1988 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, daughter Amy, and his son John, and his two sisters, Mary Birk and Beth Bruckbauer. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Betty.
Jim was an avid drag racing fan. He loved the races, and collecting drag racing memorabilia was his passion. He attended numerous races around the country with his friends each year. He had a diverse taste in music and attended countless concerts over the years. He was fortunate to have enjoyed two great years of retirement where he frequented the local coffee shops and relaxed at the beach.
