He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert S Mendoza and Lucille Mendoza (Smith); and his brother Gaines Bunny. He is survived by: his children, Robert of Oswego, Aimee Lafontaine (Ben) of Glen Ellyn, William (Diana Ingersoll-Cope) of Bellevue, WA and Thomas (Flora Denton) of Urbana; his siblings, Margo Smith of Tulsa, OK, Roberto Mendoza of Tulsa, OK, Elizabeth Ingram of Tulsa, OK, Roselyn Bunny-Frye of Tulsa, OK and Marion Frye of Del City, OK.; and his grandchildren, Lola, Kaya, Ava, Scarlett, Will and Jack.
