It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Lee Collins of Urbana, Illinois, born in Gunnison, Mississippi, who passed away on February 14, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Beatrice Humphries and Will Humphries; her siblings, Willie May Bean of Mississippi, Evelyne Williams of Mississippi, Maddie Williams of Danville, IL and Willie Lee "Tater" Humphries of Shaw, MS; and her son Robert Collins, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Rose Gentry (Mason Sr.) of Sioux City, IA, Curtis Collins, Jr. of Urbana, IL and Clarice Collins (Ashley) of Plano, TX; her pet Spike; her siblings, RosaLee Woods of Cleveland, MS, Minnie B. Maxwell of South Bend, IN, Ruth Ann Ault of Danville, IL, Johnny B. Humphries of Denver, CO and Kendrick Roach of Blythewood, SC; her grandchildren, Jonathan Gentry, Christopher Gentry (Megan), Mason Gentry II, Jenny Bryant-Collins, Robert Garza (Alexis), Brianna Garza, Curtis Collins III, Kapria Collins and Robert Collins Jr.; and also, Silk and Batman. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; and, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
