With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Deacon Willie V. Herrington (Urbana, Illinois), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Though Deacon Willie may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Deacon Willie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his mother Sweetie Mae Herrington. He is survived by: his children, Donald Herrington (Gillette), Elder Christopher Chaney (LaWanda), Beverly Herrington, Karen Herrington Sander and Ashley Herrington. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Greater Holy Temple (1409 W Dublin St, Urbana, IL 61801). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
