With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Smelcer (Urbana, Illinois), born in Chrisman, Illinois, who passed away on May 26, 2019 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Roger Yontz and Urma Yontz (Light); her siblings, Elaine Yontz Regehr and George Richard Yontz; and her former husband Julian Sams of Mt. Pulaski. She was also cherished by several cousins & many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to Clark-Lindsay Friendship Fund, Nature Conservancy of Illinois, or to First United Methodist Church of Urbana.
