It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leonard Norman in Unity, Illinois, born in Davenport, Iowa, who passed away on January 21, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Leonard F. and Maleta C. Norman (Schonhoff); his siblings, Marcia Reifsteck (John) of Naperville, IL, Ronald Norman (Jeanie) of Galena and Steve Norman (Angela) of Verona, WI; his nieces and nephews, Tim Reifsteck (Sara) of Naperville, IL, Kevin Reifsteck (Tabitha) of Yorkville, IL, Bryan Reifsteck (Jamie Burfield) of Plainfield, IL, Nathan Norman (Nachelle) of Princeton, IL, Jason Norman of Laguna Niguel, CA, Braden Norman (Lauren) of Galena, IL, Erica and Caroline Norman of Verona, WI; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Breven, Blake, Cole, Austin Reifsteck, Miles, Kenten, Maverick Norman, Aurora, Makenzie Reifsteck, Myla, Gracie, Alivia and Norah Norman; his aunts and uncles, Rosalyn Schonhoff, Hylene Anderson, Joan Norman, Annella Dayton, Orville Norman, John Dayton, Lee Anderson and Urban Schonhoff; his great-nephew Brenten Norman; and also Makoa Dunn.

Due to Current COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Galena and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Patrick Murphy wrote a sympathy message

“Lenny had his locker next to me at Galena High School as a Freshman. We became friends and looked out for each other. He was quiet, almost silent ....but when he trusted you his smile was just incredible. We stayed close and whenever he saw me or I him as the years went by, we always laughed about those awkward days our freshman year and were both glad we had spent that time together. Will miss that smile. Patrick Murphy”
