He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Swanson and Evelyn Swanson (Wessel); his sister-in-law Sylvia Swanson; and his son-in-law Alan Rankin. He is survived by: his wife Iris (Arend-Frillman); his children, Anne Swanson and David (Sally); his grandchildren, Sophia, Alyssa, Miles (Seth Rankin), Nicholas, Jason (Will Frillman) and Cole Shamhart; his nephews, Ronald Swanson (Dawn) and Peter Swanson (Connie); and his great-nieces, Betsy, Erica, Veronica, Nicole, Natalie and Nate Swanson.
