He was predeceased by: his father Loyd Pate; his stepmother Roanne Pate; his mother Ethel Smolik (Riecan); his stepfather Adam J. Smolik; and his sister Jane Chinn.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Crowe; his children, Steve Pate, Jr. (Becky), Paul Pate (Caroline) and Michelle Pate-Noyes (Matt); his grandchildren, Steven Pate, Ian Pate, Gorman Pate, Michael Pate, McGrady Noyes, Elise Pate, Lara Pate, Mattie Noyes and Morgan Noyes; and his siblings-in-law, June Dublar and Richard Crowe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Troy Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice and will be accepted at the church.
