He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis J. Rankin; his parents, Edward J. Rankin and Callie Rankin; and his siblings, Douglas, Edward, James "Bob" Sr., Thomas Rankin and Betty Rankin.
He is survived by: his children, Richard A. "Rick" Rankin (Sheila) of Collinsville, IL and Glenda R. Henry (Joe) of Collinsville, IL; his grandchildren, Matthew Henry (Carolyn), Adam Henry, Anna Shriver (Alex), Liz Askew (Drew) and Brittany Henry; and his great grandchildren, Annalea, Carly Henry, Jovie Grace and Lucy Jane Askew. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice or Alzeheimer's Association.
