He was predeceased by: his parents, Doc Boyd and Etta Mae Fanning; and his children, Linda Finley, Bruce Fanning and Lance Fanning.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Fanning (Healey) of Troy, Illinois; his son Bryan Fanning (Jodie) of Troy, Illinois; his grandchildren, Amanda Johnson of Belleville, IL, Michelle Fanning of Belleville, IL, John Finley (Kathryn) of Swansea, IL, Chris Fanning of Troy, IL, Dan Fanning (Holli) of St. Rose, IL and Eryn Fanning of Troy, IL; and his great grandchildren, Emily Gerves (Michelle), Devon Hunt, Elizabeth Vanhorn (Joe), Alissa Johnson, Skylar Schroeder, Kathleen "Ellie" Finley, Rebecca "Becky" Finley and Grace Finley. He is also survived by three great, great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Lake View Funeral Home (5000 N Illinois St, Fairview Heights, IL 62208). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
