He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Shamhart and Daisy Shamhart (Bryan); his wife Laura B. Staley; and his siblings, Phyllis Hook and Delaine Shamhart.

He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Robinson (Eric) of Chicago, Illinois and Brian Shamhart (Jamie) of Oak Park; and his grandchildren, Emily Robinson and Cole Shamhart.
