He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence P. Scheller and Dorothy L. Scheller (Meyer); and his granddaughter Allison Ann Scheller. He is survived by: his wife Gail (Benardin); his children, Sara Gregory (David), Timothy Scheller (Julie Sievers) and Dustin Scheller (Sarah Miller); his grandchildren, Megan, Ethan Gregory, Olivia and Ellie Scheller; his sister Bettie; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Augustine and Larry Benardin. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, & nephews.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton, IL.
