He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl W. Ackerman and Melanie Ackerman; and his siblings, Donald, Bill Ackerman and Ruth Woker.
He is survived by: his children, Randy Ackerman (Carol) of Marine, IL, Kurt Ackerman (Gretchen) of Edwardsville, IL, Kathy Poletti of Troy, IL, Debbie Abercrombie (Mike) of Howell, MI and Vicki Ross (Rick) of Richmond, VA; and his sister-in-law Elaine Ackerman of Troy, IL.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
