It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Mordis (Troy, Illinois), born in Hickman, Kentucky, who passed away on June 23, 2019, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Wynn and Josie Jewuel; his wife Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Hutnik; his siblings, Chester, Richard, Elton, Jimmie, Glenn, Pat, Linda Faye and Deborah; his daughter Bernadette Sobczak (Lonnie) of St. Jacob, IL; his grandchildren, Alexander and Sydney Sobczak; his siblings, Joy Dietzel of New Athens, IL, Lexie Mordis of St. Ann, MO and Gary Mordis (Ann) of Holiday Shores, IL; his sister-in-law Pat Mordis; and his friend Pam Vollmer. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made to the Special Forces Scholarship Fund and may be accepted at the funeral home.
