It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John F. McAtee of Troy, Illinois, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, who passed away on February 7, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Beth; his parents, Edmund McAtee, and Margaret McAtee, Sr.; his brothers, Edmund McAtee, Jr. and Bill McAtee; and his brother-in-law Stan Schaeffer.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. Daniel McAtee (Lora), John McAtee, Jr. (Jina), D. S. of Troy, IL, Paul McAtee (Salina) of St. Jacob, IL and Amy Biermann (Andrew) of Collinsville, IL; his grandchildren, Elisa McAtee, Sean McAtee, Kate Mueth (Charlie), Emma McAtee, Mira McAtee, Wyatt Biermann, Lyle Biermann, Elsa Biermann, Elliot McAtee and Marley McAtee; and his sister Elizabeth Schaeffer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
