He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Fern Porter; his parents, William B. Porter and Mindora Porter (Nee Cline); and his siblings, Elmer, Roland Porter, Maybelle Harrigan, Edith Prott, Nola Guinzy, Ellen Murphy, Fern Embrey and Evelyn Harrison.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Porter (Mary) of Edwardsville, IL, Brent Porter (Tina) of Troy, IL, Jill Brenkendorf (Charles) of Troy, IL, Carla Wigand (Dan) of Glen Carbon, IL, Beth A. Rice of Troy, IL and Erwin Licher (Christine) of Munich, Germany; and his grandchildren, Jamie Gourley (Scott), Lacey Luitjohan (Matt), Bradley Porter (Caci), Jacob Brenkendorf (Melinda), Aaron Brenkendorf (Tammy), Casey Hillebrand (Jarrett), Ashley Rickey (Kyle), Christopher O'Dell, Amanda Smith (Patrick), Bria Porter (Chad Votava), Dieter, Anna and Saskia Licher.
