With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Doris H. Cross of Troy, Illinois, born in Zalma, Missouri, who passed away on March 7, 2021 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alonzo F. Shirrell and Dollie M. Shirrell (Bond); her husband William Walter Cross; her daughter Sonya Willie Cross; her siblings, Jesse Shirrell, Georgie Shirrell, Rosella Anderson and Betty Bishop; and her children-in-law, Neoma Cross and Charles Douglas.

She is survived by: her children, James Cross of Sullivan, MO, Dolly Douglas of Saint Jacob, IL and Jayme Wieduwilt (James) of Troy, IL; her grandchildren, William "Scott" Pursell (Christy) of Saint Jacob, IL, James Cross (Carolyn) of Sullivan, MO, Misty Paul of Bourbon, MO, Amanda Fruewirth (Eric) of Sullivan, MO, Jessica Snider (Christopher) of Halethorpe, MD and Jacob Wieduwilt (Sarah) of Easton, MD; and her great grandchildren, Benjamin Cross (Elise), Caleb Pursell (Karlin), Brenden Pursell, Andrew Cross, Logan Pursell, Hope Snider, Olivia Paul, Sierra Fruewirth, John Paul, Tucker Fruewirth, Hunter Snider, Maggie Fruewirth, Parker Wieduwilt, Holly Ann Snider, Henry Snider, Hailey Snider and Jude Wieduwilt. She is also survived by one great-great-grandchild on the way; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial contributions in Doris' memory may be made to Vitas Hospice – Illinois.
