He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Peverly; and his brothers, George and Howard Peverly. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Peverly; his daughters, Christine Kovach (Edward), Heather Fournie (Kevin) and Janet Peverly; his sister Elizabeth Schnitzler; and his sister-in-law C. Christine Marshall (John). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was instrumental in many of the club's projects, such as managing the fish trailer at the Troy Homecoming (with the help of family and friends), candy sales, charitable requests and donations, and various other activities which benefited the club's mission and the City of Troy. David was a member of the Lions Foundation of Illinois.
