She was predeceased by: her son Bruce Leathers; her parents, David E. Thornton and Esther Thornton; and her siblings, Robert B. Thornton and Shirley Hughston.
She is survived by: her husband James L. Leather Sr.; her children, James L. Leathers Jr. of Troy, IL and Lynn Leathers of Colorado; her grandchildren, Colin Leathers, Jenny Gillen (Jonas), Heather Smith, Gretchen Bremner-Smith (Andrew) and Robert Smith; her great grandchild Lina Gillen; and her sisters, Judy Paraday of Hampden, ME and Karen Lowry (Russell) of Union Grove, AL. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
