He was predeceased by: his father Louis "Buddy" Spies; his daughter Sara Elizabeth Spies; and his brother Dean Spies. He is survived by: his mother Trudy Toennies; his stepfather Adrian Toennies of Trenton; his wife Kimberly Spies of Trenton; his children, Jessica Reeb (Chris) of Trenton, Matthew Spies of Trenton and Mark Spies of Trenton; his grandchildren, Charlie "Shug" Reeb and Joel "Bubba" Reeb; his brother Roland Spies of Bloomington; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Douthit (Amy) of Hartford, Erica Douthit-Herbst (Kyle) of Breese and Derek Douthit of Bingham. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Camp Ondessonk or Masonic Lodge and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St. Trenton, IL 62293, who is serving the family.
