Geri Lynn Hughes Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Geri Lynn Hughes of Trenton, Illinois, born in Breese, Illinois, who passed away on August 28, 2024 at the age of 62. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Schomaker and Frieda Schomaker; her sister Karen Schomaker; her parents-in-law, Bill and Callie Hughes; and her brother-in-law Chuck Hughes.
She is survived by: her husband Walter Hughes (Jode); her children, Ben Hughes (Jessica) of New Baden, IL, Becky Schubert (Tyler) of O'Fallon, IL and Katie Grimm (Addisson) of Cadiz, KY.; her siblings, Mary Lou Schomaker of New Baden, IL, Jim Schomaker (Darlene) of Nashville, IL and Don Schomaker (Sherri) of Germantown, IL.; and her grandchildren, Luke, Russell Schubert, Harvey, Hailey and Henry Hughes. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made on Geri's behalf to Mater Dei High School in Breese, IL or St. George Cemetery Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
