He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Baer and Helen Baer (Hari); his daughter Lydia Baer; and his siblings, Ted, Edwin Baer and Irma Jensen.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Ann of Tremont; his children, Sara Glueck (Herman Jr.) of Tremont, Leann Tijani (Adegoke) of East Peoria, Ilene Hansen (Derek) of Salem, Ore of Tremont, Rachel Haley (Seth) of Mackinaw, Hannah Stadeli (Doug) of Silverton, Jakob Baer of Tremont, Joseph Baer of Tremont and Lea Baer of Tremont; his siblings, Nancy Baer, Sharon Baer, Tom Baer (Martha), Tim Baer, Lela Hari (Duane) and Marvin Baer (Rebecca); and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Baer and Neils Jensen. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
