With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lois A. McKinney of Towanda, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 15, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel W. Wellenreiter and Marguerite Schroeder Wellenreiter; her granddaughter Sara Smith; her son-in-law Robert Hillyard; and her pet Molly.

She is survived by: her husband Russell McKinney of Towanda; her daughters, Kelly Smith (Steven) of Normal, Holly Hillyard of Towanda and Jessica Lawson (Doug) of Towanda; and her pet Lucy. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, one brother.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church (311 Hershey Rd, Normal, IL 61761). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
