She was predeceased by: her parents, Elgin M. Thornton and Jessie M. Schindler Thornton; and her brother Richard M. Thornton. She is survived by: her husband Delmar E. Vance; and her children, Susan Nafziger of Towanda, Rodney Vance (Linda) of Towanda, Debra Fulkerson (Randall) of East Peoria and Richard Vance (Loretta) of Normal. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
