It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Russell C. He was predeceased by: his parents, Isadore Schierer and Josephine Schierer (Kirchgessner); and his siblings, Donald, Alfred, Francis, Richard Schierer and Bernadine Appel.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Payne (Jerry) of Galva, Craig Schierer (Angie) of Florida, MO and Doug Schierer (Misty) of Chatham; his stepchildren, Paige Gerard and Keegan Gerard of Toulon; his siblings, Clara Grebner, Darlene Atkins, Herman Schierer and Wilbur Schierer (Sandy); his sisters-in-law, Shirley Schierer and June Schierer; and his pet Boo. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wyoming American Legion Post #91 (105 N Main Ave, Wyoming, IL 61491).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hog Capitol Wildlife Rescue and Rehab in Kewanee or the Stark County High School Cross Country Team for uniforms and equipment.
