He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond West and Nellie West (Koons); and his brother Ronald West. He is survived by: his wife Liz West of Toulon; his children, David West of Albuquerque, NM, Julie Kenney (Jerry) of Toulon and John West (Kristy) of Mt. Zion, IL; his grandchildren, Nakya Ely-West of Grand Junction, CO, Adam Kenney of Lancaster, CA, Danielle Kenney (Ashley) of Peoria, IL, Bailey of Mt. Zion, IL and Griffin West of Mt. Zion, IL; his great grandchildren, Judah Scotland of Grand Junction, CO and Paislee Hall of Peoria, IL.; his brother Norman West (Diane) of Casey, IL; and his sister-in-law Mary Jane West of Decatur, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Christian Church - Kewanee (105 Dwight St, Kewanee, IL 61443). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church – Kewanee, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or to the Stark County Good Samaritan Fund.
