He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John B. Ely and E. LeaDelle Ely (Burns); his grandchildren, Nicholas (Lexi), Nathan (Becky), Rachel, Jarod (Tenneille), Jenna (Matthew), Ethan, Bradon, Kristen, Brett (Shannon), Ashley and Carla (Jason); his sister Phyllis Carr (Gerald) of Minooka; his stepchildren, Denise (Phil), Diane, Debra (Rob), David (Susie), Drinda (Pat) and Dennis (Pam); his sister Charlotte Roberts; and his brother-in-law Bert Roberts. He was also cherished by 24 great-grandchildren, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Toulon United Methodist Church or the Bradon Ely Scholarship Fund.
