He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Catton and Violet Fitzpatrick (Howell); and his sister Kay Catton. He is survived by: his children, Lorrie Nowlan (Robin) of Toulon, Lawrence Catton (Sheri) of Pekin and Randy Catton of Atlanta, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Ashton Sheehan (Patrick) of Springfield, Alex Nowlan of Toulon, Ashley Egli (Jeremy) of Manito, Cody Catton of Pekin and Chelsey Catton of Pekin. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
