He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles D. Hood Sr. and Louise Turngren (Brand); his stepparents, Margaret Hood and Irv Turngren; and his sister Carol Kathleen.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Cochran; his sons, Shawn Hood (Sue) of Kewanee and Bryan Hood (Brooke) of Kewanee; his grandchildren, Conner, Kasey and Riley; his brother Berton "Jim" Hood (Carmelina) of Newport, VA; and his half-siblings, Greg Hood (Alice) of DeWitt, IA, Guy Hood (Shelly) of Galesburg, Paul Hood of Kewanee and Pam Hood of Kewanee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society.
