He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hobneck and Cecelia Hobneck (Gacnik); his former wife Hazel Bernardoni; his children, Kathleen Cofoid and Gilbert Hobneck; and his granddaughter Angela Wilson.
He is survived by: his wife Rhoda Nicholson Schneider; his children, Robert B. Hobneck (Cheryl), Christine Hand (Micky), Doreen Schutter (Jerry), Gloria Dixon (Gene), Anita Micheli (Kelly), Gerianne Durdan (Doug) and Mary Ann Herreweyers (Karl) of Iowa City, IA; his stepsons, Galen Schneider (Teresa), Benjamin Schneider (Tiffini) of Genoa, NV, Wade Schneider and Clint Schneider (Melanie) of Jacksonville, FL; and his daughter-in-law Jane Hobneck of Greenbrier, TN. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Illinois Veterans Home at La Salle or the Tonica American Legion.
