He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Karen Gilday (Thomas) and Richard (Laura); his sister Helen Laurin (late Al); and his grandchildren, Catherine, Molly, Seton, Nolan, Isabel and Thomas.

“I was blessed to have Wally as a classmate for 4 years at St. Bonaventure High and Prep School in Sturdevant Wisconsin. Since those teen years for decades he proved to be a warm, compassionate, generous and loving friend. One will seek long and hard to find a more genuine and caring couple than Wally & Betty. A poem we share since those school years which Wally was so fond of and remembered is the " Hound of Heaven" depicting Christ as a constant friend. Sue and Wally Block.”
