He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Harris Barragan and Shirley Rose Rowe; and his wife Sheila Thompson. He is survived by: his children, Sherrie VanderVelde and Tim Barragan; his son-in-law Steve VanderVelde; his grandchildren, Stephen and Sydney VanderVelde; and his sister Shirley Chennault (Donna Crespo).
In lieu of flowers we are asking that a donation be made in his name to two charities that were near and dear to his heart. Horses for heroes (Horses for Heroes Inc) or Sanctuary Farms (Sanctuary Farms - Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation).
