He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Denise Nichols; his daughters, Samantha Zimny (Alex) and Melissa Nichols (Andrew LoCoco); his grandchildren, Cassidy, Emilia, Sophie and Julian; his parents, Gerald Nichols and Pamela Nichols; and his siblings, Gerald Nichols Jr. (Kim) and Christine Nichols (Jeff Francis).

A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 10:45 AM at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home (9000 W 151st St, Orland Park, IL 60462). A Mass was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Julie Billiart Church (7399 W 159th St, Tinley Park, IL 60477).
