He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn; and his parents, Josephine Galassini and Joseph Galassini. He is survived by: his children, Nancy Gunn, Janice Zegley, Patti Krajewski (late Phil), Sharon Esterman (Jeff), Tom Galassini (Don Dixon) and Michael Galassini (Eva); his grandchildren, Rebecca Lucas (Lance), Rachel Basham (Steve), Matthew Gunn (Ashley), Joseph Zegley (Rylee), Jillian Zegley, Renee Porras (Jody), Adam Krajewski (Angelique), Nick Esterman (Kate), Shawn Esterman, Luke Esterman (Ashley), Alex Galassini (Kayley), Gaby and Juliette Galassini; his siblings, Judith Miller (Ralph) and Allan Galassini; and his close friend Evelyn Campbell.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home (530 W 14th St, Chicago Heights, IL 60411). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Joseph's name to United Service Organizations (USO) Illinois at https://www.uso.org would be appreciated by the Galassini family.
