He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollin Carnes and Ethel Carnes; and his brother Rollin Carnes Jr.. He is survived by: his sons, John Jr. and Robert Carnes; his grandchildren, Robert, Heather, Mitchell and Melanie; his great grandchild Everett; and his siblings, Pauline Davis, Donald Carnes, Carolyn McIntyre, Pearl Vaile and Merrill Carnes.
