He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Unger and Gertrude Unger (Ziegler); and his brother Louis Unger. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Unger (Huddleston); his daughters, Lois Robinson (Scott), Laura Grizinski (Steven) and Lisa Avery (John); his grandchildren, Kristen King (Ken), Scotty Robinson (Mandy), Nicole Robinson, Natalie Guzinski and Chase Avery; his great grandchildren, Nathan King, Madeline King and Xander Robinson; his sister-in-law Renetta Unger; his nephew Robert Unger (Erick Sanchez); and also, Bob Nelson, Judy Robinson, Randy Robinson, Bob Guzinski, Jeremy Horton, Carly Horton and Sarah Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
