He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Snyder; his siblings, Virginia Ferguson, Louise Buzalski and Bill Acklin; and also Dorothy "Dottie" Acklin.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Acklin (Karen), Kathleen Lodewegen (Richard), Susan Acklin-Wilson (Richard), Mark Acklin (Sharon), Thomas Acklin (Holly) and Carol Stern (Richard); and his stepchildren, Bryan Snyder and Dana Snyder.
