He was predeceased by: his parent George Riester (late Ruth); and his parent-in-law William Griffith (Barbara). He is survived by: his spouse Gail; and his children, Genevieve Syed (Faisal), Alicia Coughlin (Casey), Emily Riester (Michael Crissey), Rebecca Erickson (Andy), Joanna Riester (Michael Comeford), Tessa Yi (David) and Kurt Riester. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
