He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley and Myrlie Rettie Boyd (Thomas); and his sibling Okie. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Elam; his sons, Bruce Boyd (Patty) of Catlin, Rick Boyd (Chris) of Danville and Barry Boyd of Florida; his grandsons, Chad Boyd (Jill), Brock Boyd (Amy), Cale Boyd (Jody), Wade Boyd (Crystal), Neal Boyd and Michael Boyd; his stepgrandsons, Shane Burmeister (Michelle Jones) and Matthew Burmeister (Ashly); and also Dianna Kay Konieczki.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the United Church of Tilton or the Tilton Historical Society.
