He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles McClain and Gladys McClain (Gardiner); his daughter Judy May; his sisters, Theresa Hansbrough and Minnie Downing; his grandmother Sempsrott; and his brother Oscar McClain.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Geneva Harrison; his children, Kathy Liffick (John), Lori Carlson (Chuck Jordan), Charles "Dewey" McClain (Lisa), Kenneth "Wayne" McClain and Orville McClain; his son-in-law David May; his grandchildren, Katie May, Jennifer Clark, Jonathan May, Miranda Rendon, Jesse Herron, Erin Barnes, Jordan Harvey, Nicholas Carlson, Jean Mecke, Jac Carlson, Alicia McClain, Ryan McClain, Nakita McClain, Raymond McClain, Rebecca Maxwell, Sara McClain and Charles McClain; and his sisters, Nora Hible, Virgie Ross, Cora Bales and Betty Rosdail. He is also survived by 21 Great-Grandchildren.
