It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catherine L. Hablas of Tilton, Illinois, born in Danville, Illinois, who passed away on September 3, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Copas and Jacqueline "Jackie" Copas (Spicer); her husband Colonel Louis J. Hablas, Jr.; her sister Connie; her siblings-in-law, Everett Terrell and Lori Copas; her grandson Alex Hablas; and her son-in-law Matthew Brown.
She is survived by: her former husband Robert W. Johnston, Jr.; her daughter April Pattengale (William) of Danville, IL; her grandchildren, Catherine Brown, Lillian Brown, Anthony Pattengale, Ashley Rich, Jordan Pattengale, Louis J. Hablas III (Beth), Madison, Patrick of Alpharetta, GA, Christopher Hablas (Jennifer), Samantha, Joseph, Thomas, Matthew of St. Johns, FL, Jenni Booth (Jason), Jacob, Maisey and Charlotte of Woodbridge, VA.; and her brothers, David Copas (Linda) and Samuel Copas (Angela).
Memorials in Kate's memory may be given to Grape Creek Baptist Church.
