He was predeceased by: his parents, Palmer Isaac and Ary Mae Acree Powell; his former wife Bonne K. Powell; his daughter Janet Wombles; and his siblings, Floyd, Donald, Paul, Robert, Steve Powell and Mary Powell.
He is survived by: his daughter Fern Jeanette Roberson Schmidt of Naples, FL; his siblings, Oscar Leroy Powell of Danville, William Edward Powell of Georgetown, Illinois, Lula Mae Stark of Georgetown and Millie Jane Powell of Maryland; his sisters-in-law, Sharon Powell, Crystal Powell and Shandra Powell; his grandchildren, Bradley Smith, Jenna Wombles, Stephanie Wombles, Alexander Roberson (Megan) and Andrew Schmidt; and his great grandchild Penelope Roberson.
