The memory of Richard W. Shear of Thomson, Illinois, who passed away on April 18, 2025 at the age of 77, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ken Starr and Arlene Starr (Potter); his wife Kay Nelson; his granddaughter Wrenlee; and his siblings, Randy, Steve and Kimberly.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Huizenga (Gary) of Albany, Tiffiny Dauen (Kevin) of Fulton and Tanner Shear (Abby) of Morrison, Illinois; his stepdaughter RaeAnn Strack (Kyle); his grandchildren, Drake, Weston, Camden, Cassie, Alicea, Chelsea and Alexis; his sisters, Cathy Green (Marv) of Mt. Carroll, Theresa Herman (Chas) of Naples, Cheryl Temple of Clinton and Linda Starr of Thomson, Illinois; and his cousin Sandy Shadle. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Lower York Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 1601 9th Ave, Fulton, IL 61252.
