It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kay L. Shear of Thomson, Illinois, born in Clinton, Iowa, who passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Don Nelson and Hazel Nelson (McDuff); her sister Karen; her brother-in-law Robert; and her nephew Eddie.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Shear of Thomson; her daughter RaeAnn Strack (Kyle); her grandchildren, Bentley, Lyla, Pyper and Maveryck; her sisters, Kim Frahm (Randy) of Clinton and Connie Boles of Camanche; and also, Dawn Huizenga (Gary), Tiffiny Dauen (Shear) and Tanner Shear (Abby).
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
