He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Veaughn and Della May Veaughn (Willis); his wife Lois Veaughn (Smith); his daughter Kathy Lingle Perry; his grandson Matthew Vosbein (Lingle); and his siblings, Wilma Lucille Veaughn, Clara Arnett "Nettie" Veaughn Peters and Marion Albert 'Bub" Veaughn.
He is survived by: his sons, Tim Lingle (Amy) of Thompsonville and Vernon Veaughn Jr. of West Frankfort; his grandchildren, Brandon, Kristin Lingle, Jason, Tiffany Lingle, Jeremy, Courtney Lingle, Jacob Veaughn, Lucas, Shelby Lingle and Joshua Veaughn; and his great grandchildren, John Vosbein, Connor Vosbein, Alexa Lingle, Leah Lingle, Jacob Lingle, Mason Lingle, Caleb Lingle and Aurora Lingle.
