He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert S. "Tiny" and Lou Young (Maxey); and his siblings, Robert S. Young, Betty Lou Young, Iola Poole, Marjorie Forbes and Marian Apgar.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Young (Chambliss); his daughter Betty Jo Oliger (Jon) of Belle Rive, Illinois; his grandchildren, Andrea Hetzel (Matt), Timothy Oliger (Naomi) of Mount Vernon and Samuel Oliger (Felecity) of Texico, Illinois; his great grandchildren, Joshua Oliger of Mount Vernon, Ezekiel Nelson Oliger of Mount Vernon, Micah Oliger of Mount Vernon, Emmilia Oliger of Mount Vernon and Kaden Hetzel of Carmi; and his brother Ralph Young (Peggy) of Argenta, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Fred's honor to Panther Fork Cemetery or Oakdale Cemetery.
